Our words and thoughts have power. How often have we heard this and yet, at critical times we simply forget?
A great example is when it's time to pay bills. Many people find paying bills to be a drudgery and something that “has to be done.”
The reality is, someone entrusted you enough to believe you would honor the agreement of paying for services or products rendered. If you have the attitude of "I can't stand paying bills!", guess what, you will get more of what you "can't stand" based on your focus.
It has been scientifically proven that the energy we put out multiples and returns to us many times over. So if we can't stand something and we continually affirm this, we will get more of what we can't stand. Simple as that.
No doubt, most people are somewhat mindless about what they are thinking and feeling when they write a check in payment for a bill. It is in this mindlessness the seeds of lack can be planted.
On the other hand, when one is really clear on how powerful their thoughts, feelings and beliefs are when they are writing a check, chances are they will be very conscious of sending out positive thoughts around the process.
A practice I have had for years is to give thanks while I am writing my checks. I actually write “thank you” in the memo area of the check. On more than one occasion I have had someone who received a payment for something comment on this practice.
To me (and countless other people) it makes perfect sense to give thanks in this way. When I get into a space of thanks for the opportunity to send money to those people who deserve payment for services and products rendered the energy is very different than if I were to begrudge sending the money.
The fact is, money is energy. Ask yourself this, "If it's true that money is energy, what kind of energy am I creating when I pay my bills?"
Is it one of gratitude or one of resentment? The fact is, whichever you focus on you get more of.
I speak from a position of knowing what it is like to live in complete lack and years later to live in the space of abundance. Until I became fully aware of how powerful our thoughts, beliefs and emotions are I was one of those who resented paying my bills.
My life reflected this fact. It seemed the more I resented and felt in lack, the more I experienced lack until one day I didn't have to concern myself with paying bills since I had no car and no where to live at one point in my 20's.
It was only when I came to the realization that I created the life I was living was I willing to make the necessary changes to turn my life around.
I would invite you to notice the thoughts and feelings that surface when you are exchanging money for services and/or products. Are they ones of joy and thankfulness? If not, maybe it's time to change this. You will be amazed at the magic that will happen as a result.
Blessings,

Kathleen: Another great post! Thank you. A key word you use here is "willing." You are so right that we have to be willing to make necessary changes. "Willing" is an integral part of the process of manifesting.
