Most people have dreams of things they would like to accomplish. Some people fulfill dream after dream often with what appears to be little or no effort.
Then there are those who simply dream and seem to struggle even to accomplish the most minimal outcome.
So what is the distinction? I contend their beliefs and thoughts. Additionally, the actions they take.
It has been said that successful people are willing to do what unsuccessful people will not do. Not because they can’t, but rather, due to the amount of effort involved.
What is the correlation
If you were to analyze why many people don't achieve what they want you many find a correlations between the words they use and the results they get.
Another aspect of limiting one's chances for dream fulfillment are their beliefs around deservibility. They may want something and yet wonder if they are deserving to have what they want. Finally, many simply don’t take any action on their dreams. Or if they do, it’s minimal and at the first sign of an obstacle they quit.
It goes beyond the material
It is likely that many people interpret fulfilling a dream and being successful solely on the material level. In reality it can be in many areas of our life such as with our spirituality and/or connection to a power greater than ourselves that constitutes a dream come true.
Many years ago that was my vision, my goal, my dream. I intuitively knew if I had a connection with something beyond me life would be different; very different. And yet, for years I thought about it, talked about it, read about it, but didn't do much at all to change my thinking, beleifs and actions.
Are you willing to surrender?
When I reached a point where I was totally willing to surrender my will and my life to a power greater than myself, life changed. When I say "surrender my will" it's not about giving up free will. Actually, just the opposite.
For years I resisted it when I was told to surrender. I saw it as a sign of weakness. What I have come to know is surrender is a sign of stregnth in the context of my spiritual well-being.
The major distinction when I try to run the show or I allow myself to be guided by my Higher Power life will flow and I will have a level of grace I otherwise would not have. Situations that may bother me when I am running the show are very palatable when I am guided. For example, if there is a delay in my day that I didn't expect. If I am trying to control things it is likely I will become agitated, frustrated and even harsh. When I accept that things are in their right order, the the obstacles are no big deal.
When you are connected with a Higher Source whether it be God, Higher Power, Universe, Budda, etc., it is likely many of the struggles you may currently be experiencing will diminish.
Saying and doing are two different things
Saying we want a strong spiritual connection and doing something about it are two compeletely different things. Think about it, developing your spiritual well-being often includes prayer, meditation, service to others, tithing, sharing our abundance with those who will be blessed by it without expecting anything at all in return, attending church or other types of gatherings where there is a focus on developing and enhancing our spirit to name just a few.
Each person must decide for themselves what they need to do to enhance their spiritual well-being. The truth is, the more aware we become, the more aware we become and we cannot close the door of what we know to be true.
Is your house in order?
The most amazing thing is that once your spiritual house is in order, many of the other things you wanted may become much more effortless to achieve. Or, you may find that what you thought was so important before you raised your consciousness may no longer hold much importance.
For me, one aspect of my spiritual well-being is sharing my thoughts and beliefs with my readers with no attachment to who reads it, who believes it or who uses any of my ideas. All I need to do is write and the rest will take care of itself as life usually does.
Blessings,
Kathleen Gage
