If you’re reading this blog you have likely heard about the Law of Attraction. Chances are you believe in the power of attraction on some level. Although we may believe in something we can falter from that belief until we receive enough evidence that indicates there is no reason to doubt the belief. Then we just know the Law of Attraction works.
I am a firm believer that if you ask for something there’s a good chance it will show up. Not always in the form we thought, but it will show up. Unless of course we negate our desire by asking for the opposite through our thoughts, words and beliefs that will bring us the opposite.
Case in point. A friend of mine has her heart set on a very rigorous spiritual training that requires a week in Sedona, Arizona and several thousand dollars in tuition, travel and hotel.
She has dreamed of attending this training for a long, long time; years in fact. Yet, each time she gets close to making a commitment to go the thought of, “Where will I get the money to pay for everything?” creeps up.
In a recent conversation, I invited her to consider that her job is knowing the what, not the how. Simply put, decide what you want and the how will reveal itself day by day.
It will manifest when we release
Earlier today I got a call from my friend more excited than I had heard her in a long time. “Your not going to believe what happened,” she said so fast I had to ask her to repeat it.
“You’re not going to believe what happened. Today I got a letter from my insurance company from where I used to live. Apparently, I had overpaid on a doctor’s bill and they were sending me a reimbursement check.”
“How much is it for?” I asked.
“Over $1,000. I know exactly what I am going to do with the money. I am putting a deposit on the training. And I am going to trust that the rest will show up if I show up.”
Mentors come in many ways
The best part of all of this is my friend is in the middle of reading, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth by T. Harv Eker. The book is literally changing her focus, her thoughs and her life.
Much of the conversation we had a few days ago is exactly what she is reading in the book. The thing is, much of what we read, hear or see when it comes to abundance thinking is not new. And yet, if we don’t focus on abundance thinking it is easy to get into thinking, I just won’t have enough, how will I ever be able to…..(you fill in the blanks), what if I fail at this, and on and on.
Where is your focus?
What you focus on and believe in builds. If you believe things won’t work you will get plenty of evidence to support your belief. If, on the other hand, you hold the belief something will come to pass, chance are it will.
Does that mean there will be no effort involved? In some cases it may appear as such. In reality, there will be footwork and action required. The more congruent we are with our desires, beliefs and requests, the more effortless the actions become making it appear as if something simply appeared.
