Ask ten people what success means and you're likely to get ten different
answers. Sure, there may be some similarities, yet each person must
answer for themselves what success means for them. Afterall, they wake
up and go to sleep with themselves each and every day. It is themselves
they must look at in the mirror and either like what they see or not.
When I say "like what they see" I am not necessarily speaking of the
physical attributes; although this can have something to do with it. On a
deeper level it is more about the "unseen". It is an energy they
possess. Their aura. Does it shine or fade?
Traditionally, when we think of success we think of that which has been
accomplished; that which we say yes to. Yet, success can also be those
things we are willing to say no to. The temptations that block us from
our greatest good.
It can be the ability to recognize behaviors that prevent us from being
the best we can be. Not only recognize the behaviors but taking
appropriate action on this knowledge. It is simply about knowing when
the appropriate time for no and the appropriate time for yes is based on
who we are and what we came here to do.
My friend Lorraine Cohen, has written, talked and counciled countless
individuals on the power of saying Yes! Yes to who we are. Yes to what
we want, need and desire. And yes to our life.
In a recent article she wrote she explains how fear is the main culprit
of the ability to say yes to the success we dream of. Determine for
yourself if fear is holding you back.
