Our path is to be one of love, forgiveness, acceptance, sharing, giving and joy. These are but a few of the lessons we are taught during Sunday services.
As we sit in our place of worship and contemplate what our minister, rabbi or spiritual leader is sharing it is usually very easy to be in the space of, "This is so true. My purpose is very simple. Follow the Word."
Yet, how long does this train of thought last? For some, it is a constant. For others, the minute we leave our place of worship we may be confronted with a situation that triggers an unwelcome response. Perhaps someone cuts us off when we are on the freeway. Maybe we are being delayed due to road construction. Maybe someone says something to us we just don't like.
Getting off track certainly does not make someone bad. It simply means we are in our humanness. Rarely can anyone stay on their path at all times. And yet, even when they appear to be off the path that in itself is the path.
Life is meant to be an unfolding of our awareness. It is about having the willingness to explore further a higher consciousness. The higher our consciousness the fewer choices we need to make simply because we know the correct choice.
The fact is the more one moves further into their true path the narrower the road traveled becomes. What this simply means is as you raise your awareness and consciousness what may have been acceptable in the past no longer works. It simply is no longer acceptable based on what you choose your life to be.
When one is hiking they likely have a compass in order to know where they are on their journey. It is the same on our spiritual journey. We have a moral compass. It is the gauge by which we make the necessary adjustments needed in order to live the best life we possibly can.
Everyone has their own moral compass. Our personal compass is ours and ours alone. What we may view as right, just and moral may not be what another does. Only we are able to use our own compass.
We cannot force our ways on anyone. It has been said, "Our life is either a warning of what not to do or an example of what is possible."
By simply knowing in our heart what we are being called to do, honoring this and living our life based on our moral compass we become an example of so much that is possible.
